5.4.14 Writer’s Romance

“I wish you were here”
were the words he would delete
once a night before bed.
He put the phone down and thought to himself.
He needed no final words.
Although he had the power to write them
it could be an interesting experiment
to leave the story without an ending,
without the main character.

How would the story end?
would be the question he left the readers with.
It would be the question he left himself.
He could hope that her author was still writing.
That she had an ending set for him.
But the story could continue without him,
he knew the risks either way.
He was tired of the restless nights always writing.
He put down the pen
and let the world decide for him.

She continued to write.
