13/12/13 The Slowest Ride, The Mental Jail

The ride slows and slow
You’ve forgotten the excitement
You only remember the falling action
And you never get to the resolution
You live in this strange purgatory
Where nothing good comes
It only goes, fades, dissipates
And you know that’s where you have to stay
You need to live there for years until you get out

Is it your punishment?
What crime did you commit?
This is where you’ll be
No reason needed
A prisoner with no trial
A prisoner with no jail cell
No metal bars to clang and cling to
You’ve accepted it
You’ve lived with it
You’ll live with it as long as you need to
Because the alternative will end you
The end isn’t what scares you
It’s that it’s the climax
And the world would be watching
