25/9/13 Art and Science

You’re the enlightment
And I’m romanticism.
We were in different eras to begin with.
But we were always next to each other.
The opposites attracted.

I felt the art of our love,
You dissected the science
I was spontaneous
You were calculated.
And you thought it to death.
You wondered and worried.
Hypothesized and theorized
about why you were so moody
Why you didn’t enjoy my
gifts, love, innocence
Your list went on and on
As they always did.

Your calculation finally printed
And showed the inevitable end
But if you had been looking at the art
instead of the numbers
You would’ve seen the end when you started counting.
